VoyantMark

As the demand for more types of images—and more precise images—increases, so does the need for tools that help radiologists give doctors the insight they need. VoyantMark™ is the world’s first fully positionable orthopedic X-ray calibration and marking device. Designed specifically to work with TraumaCad® surgical planning software, VoyantMark aids in accurately measuring patient anatomy.

Precision calibration

By positioning a 1-inch stainless steel ball at a precise anatomical plane, VoyantMark eliminates the variable of X-ray magnification factor from the process of orthopedic templating. This allows TraumaCad to automatically “calibrate” itself with the ball and ensure a precise measurement of the anatomy in question, which, in turn, helps ensure that the appropriate prosthetic device is selected before surgery.

Positioning VoyantMark

Palpate the anatomy to discern the correct placement of VoyantMark.

For Hip: Position VoyantMark at the same plane as the greater trochanter. In some cases the surgeon might request that VoyantMark be placed in the inner thigh area near the ischial tuberosity. This is also very easy with VoyantMark and causes little, if any, fear of embarrassment for the patient and technologist.

For Knee: Position VoyantMark on a plane equivalent to midline of the femur or just behind and below the patella.

Flexible arm lengths

Arm sections can be added or removed, often by bending the arm in the middle and then again for the number of sections you want to remove. Additional sections can be ordered in 4-link segments. You can also request tools to assist with link-removal and link-addition.

Exact calibration

The ball is an exact 25.4 mm (1 inch) and is the exact size from all angles. When the ball is properly placed at bone level, TraumaCad will use the sphere as a calibration marker to “know” the size of other components in that plane.

Durable construction

The ball and all hardware are made with stainless steel, and the balance is plastic. The flexible arm is actually a flexible hose used for liquids in the tool and dye market.
